Introduction

Little Mongena Tented Camp is an intimate lodge situated on the banks of the Mongena Dam in the Dinokeng Game Reserve in Gauteng- only a 40 minute drive from Pretoria.  Offering a malaria-free glamping experience in a Big 5 game reserve, the camp is situated within the 8 000ha Mongena Private Game Reserve- part of the greater Dinokeng Game Reserve which spans 18 500ha and home to pristine bushveld, free roaming Big 5, incredible birdlife and diverse general plains game population.

The lodge can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests and is ideal for an intimate private family gathering or special occasion. (Please note: the camp is unfenced and therefore, does not allow children under 12 years).Morning and afternoon safari activities are conducted in open 4×4 safari vehicles, with sunset cruises or guided bush walks available, and guest facilities include a bar, lounge, and dining area, with an expansive wooden deck offering stunning views over the dam. The open air boma is perfect for evenings spent gathered around the campfire, under the stars. In between safari activities, guests are invited to relax and soak up the sun next to the sparkling infinity pool.

Accommodation

Little Mongena can accommodate 20 guests in shared accommodation comprising 10 luxury tented suites. Each tented suite is spacious and airy and has a comfortable King-size bed (or twin beds). The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet and basin. The tents are all air- conditioned and feature mini-safes, tea and coffee stations, and a hairdryer. Each tented suite has a covered patio, with chairs, overlooking the dam where guests can relax and enjoy the wildlife and incredible birdlife coming down to drink at the water’s edge.
