The stunning Mongena Private Game Lodge is surrounded by the lush Dinokeng veld and is set within the 8 000ha Mongena Private Game Reserve, a malaria-free reserve that forms part of the Big 5 Dinokeng Game Reserve. Situated an easy 1.5 hour drive from Johannesburg, Dinokeng Game Reserve- which spans 21 000ha- is home to pristine bushveld, free roaming Big 5, incredible birdlife and a diverse general plains game population.

The lodge is set in beautiful indigenous landscaped gardens next to a small lake which is overlooked by the Tshukudu Breakfast Restaurant, Kingfisher a la carte Restaurant, and Tshukudu bar area- the perfect spot to enjoy evening sundowners. The tame zebra, nyala and springbuck residing in the main camp delight all guests with their presence and have become a favourite trademark of Mongena- while the wonderful array of birdlife makes the camp a birder’s paradise.

Guests can enjoy guided game drives with braai lunches, bush-walks and sunset cruises, each offered with experienced guides to ensure the best possible sightings of the wildlife found in the reserve . In between safari activities, guests can relax by the sparkling pool or enjoy a game of pool. The conference centre is ideal for those wanting to blend business with a safari experience and offers boardroom facilities, while the romantic chapel promises the perfect space to enjoy your special day.

Accommodation

24 thatched, en- suite rooms (single, double/twin or family accommodation) are positioned amidst the rolling lawns and are in close proximity to the restaurants and main lodge area- accommodating a total of 59 guests in shared accommodation. Each well-appointed unit is air-conditioned and has a shower, tea and coffee making facilities, room safe, hairdryer, flat screen television set with satellite TV programmes and a room turn-down service at night. 5 of the 18 twin rooms and all 6 family rooms offer a bathroom with bathtub and shower. The lodge also has a wheelchair friendly twin room with a paraplegic bathroom facility.

Baby cots are available and baby feeding chairs are provided in the dining areas. Wifi is available at certain hotspots around the lodge.
